Who is Eligible for FSRBC?

Medicare/Medical

65 years or over Medicare-eligible retirees and 65 years or over spouses from participating school districts that are enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B.

Dental and Vision

If a retiree is enrolled in FSRBC, their spouse or eligible dependents may enroll in dental and vision benefits.

When Can I Enroll with FSRBC?

Aging In Reitrees

If you are turning 65, you are considered an aging-in retiree. You have a 7-month enrollment period: 3 months prior to your Medicare-eligibility date, the month of your Medicare-eligibility, and 3 months after Medicare-eligibility.

New Retirees

If you are over 65 and retiring, you are considered a new retiree. You have a 6-month enrollment period: 3 months prior to your retirement date, the month of your retirement, and 2 months after retirement.

How Will I know When It's Time to Enroll?

Aging In Retirees

If you are turning 65, you are considered an aging-in retiree. If we receive your birthdate from the District, you will begin to receive communications 4 months prior to your 65th birthday.

New Retirees

If you are over 65 and retiring, you are considered a new retiree. You will receive communications once we have been informed of your retirement by your District.

This take several weeks based on the timing of when the files are sent to FSRBC and then printed/mailed.

Whether you are under or over 65 and approaching retirement it’s important to start planning and learning about Medicare options available to you. If your School District is part of the FSRBC you are eligible to participate in one of our Virtual Classroom sessions.

We provide unbiased education to Retirees on the complicated topic of Medicare with no pressure to enroll. The plan and information provided are a free service to eligible participants, and the FSRBC representatives are not receiving commissions based on product recommendations.

Our main goal for this session is to provide you with the information you need to make an educated decision about the Medicare Medical plan that is best for you. Throughout the session you will have the opportunity to ask questions about your unique situation.
